Insurance and Billing

It’s important to understand your benefits and any potential out-of-pocket costs. Here are a few tips to help you navigate your coverage:

Insurance Pre-Authorization:

I require pre-authorization for therapy services prior to scheduling our first session.

  1. Verify Your Benefits: Before your first appointment, contact your coverage plan to verify your mental health benefits. Ask about coverage for outpatient therapy, copayments, and any deductibles.
  2. Out-of-Network Benefits: If I am not in-network with your insurance provider, you may still have out-of-network benefits. Check with your coverage provider to understand your options.
  3. Claims Submission: I utilize a service to submit claims to your coverage provider on your behalf. You are responsible for any copayments, or deductibles as determined by your insurance plan.

Private Pay

For those seeking therapeutic support without coverage, I offer a straightforward private pay option. My private pay rates are as follows:

Individual: $200

Couple: $250

Family: $275

Payment Policy

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept Simple Practice payments, Venmo, Paypal, and Zelle at this time.

Sliding Scale

I believe therapy should be accessible — and I understand that finances can be a barrier to care. For this reason, I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots to clients who are paying out of pocket and experiencing financial hardship.

What is a Sliding Scale?

A sliding scale is a reduced fee for therapy, based on your current income or financial situation. It allows us to work together while honoring your budget and still valuing the work we’re doing in session.

How It Works

  • Spots are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Sliding scale rates range from $90 to $200 per session, depending on your financial need and availability.
  • We will determine your rate during your consultation or intake session.
  • You may be asked to revisit your financial status every 3–6 months to ensure the sliding scale is still appropriate.

Important Notes

  • Sliding scale rates are not applied retroactively.
  • If your financial situation changes (for better or worse), please reach out — I’m always open to discussing adjustments.
  • These reduced-rate spots are offered in good faith. I trust that clients will be honest and transparent about their financial needs.

Cancellation Policy

I understand that life can be unpredictable. Therefore, if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a cancellation fee. View my Cancellation Policy in greater detail.
